Raymond Scott is an incredible musical scientist. He created jazz perfectly (here is his quintet tearing it up, many of their pieces were used in warner brothers cartoons) and composed electronic music in a far out way long before most people knew the term electronic music. This electronic piece is from the early electronic days, 1959. The music compilation called Manhattan Research (there's a track here) has been sampled by many musicians over the years. It left a big impression on my the first time I listened through it. I made a mixtape of all the madness on the compilation and still have it buried in the yard somewhere. I plan to dig it up one day and throw it online.
