One of my favorite ambient electronic pieces in the human construct of time. Oval was ridiculously ahead of time/weird. This is Part 1/3 of a 24 minute track called "Do While". This track is much easier to soak in if you should happen to set certain weeds that grow in your vicinity afire.

If you don't know who Gil Scott-Heron is, I do not like your taste in music. Or your taste, at least, needs some tweaking/educating in order for me to like it. The man is a legend and he became "was a legend" as soon as he passed away 10 days ago. He defined an era, was as proto hip hop as it gets and had so much socio-political substance to his music it is hard to fathom in this era of substance lacking lyrics in music. Man I miss substance. Man I miss Gil. Enjoy this Gil Scott-Heron mix by Giles Peterson. Or, depending on who you are, be baffled by the lyrical substance in the mix or by the lack of auto tune in the mix.

Ophex - Modelo

Some amazing new sample laden baile funk/b-more/remix/tropical beats from Ophex. The album is called Gringo De Janiero and I just located a free download (and you can too with some savvy search skills). Tracks off this album will def be played in my set late this week. I especially like his "Otherside" by The Red Hot Chili Peppers remix. Ophex for the win.
